Environmental Guide Arlington Conservation Council does not endorse any particular commercial enterprises. This guide is for information purposes to aid people in finding environmentally-friendly products and services in the Arlington and DFW area. This page is just starting, but our members will be supplying more information shortly. Paper Not all recycled paper is created equal. 100% recycled paper is what you're looking for with a high percentage of post-consumer content. Also, you want to make sure that the paper is chlorine-free. Chlorine-free paper is bleached with Oxygen or Hydrogen Peroxide (PCF) and not with Chlorine Dioxide (ECF). Chlorine creates Dioxins, is poisonous to fish and pollutes our water. Household Paper Things have been changing. Used to be you couldn't find paper towels and toilet paper made from recycled paper. Now you can go to most grocery stores and find them. Brands include 7th Generation, Planet, and others, even including some of the store brands. Computer Paper Again, it's easier to find recycled computer paper than it used to be. Most of the office supply chains carry some brands. If they don't, request that they do and shop somewhere else. Electronics Recycling Do you have a computer or other electronic equipment that needs to be recycled? One place to take it is in Carrollton. Recycled Computers International, LLC., 2940 Eisenhower, Carrollton, TX 75007, 800-258-9112.
